A CAMPAIGN FOR NOBILIS: A GAME OF GREATER POWERS

"Into action dire are Nobilis born.
Thrust from mundanity's cold, cruel prison,
Through the crucible of rawest Creation's fury...

...and out the other side...

...where the Fire truly begins."

New Gift of Aspect for Elena: Shadowshifting
Posted by NightDreams @ 07:55 PM CST

Shadowshifting (Shapeshifting)

A Gift of Aspect

1 CP

The Noble can transform her physical body into a body composed of shadows. When her body is thus transformed, she can do all the things shadows can do. She can blend into other shadows and become unnoticeable, she can change her shape and size, she can slip through small cracks and keyholes, and she can travel easily across rough terrain.

The drawback is that whilst the Noble is shadow, she cannot behave otherwhiles than shadows normally do without risking attention being drawn to herself, and if she is extremely unlucky, causing dementia animus in the human being who might have just watched a shadow move across a sunlit field--with nothing to cast it.

Thought Records of Elena, Lady Nox: Sartael
Posted by NightDreams @ 04:00 PM CST

Sartael hangs naked from the Weeping Tree,
his left foot bound unseen to some thick bough
above him, his right leg bent at a painful angle
to the other. Perhaps it is broken; he trickles
the blood of a God from a hundred small gashes
and cuts, as well, but the most grievous wound
is his left eye. There, the tip of an arrow as black
as the darkest sky and edged with flecks of stars
protrudes, collecting the rivulets of blood from your
Lord's ruined eye before it drips...drips...drips down
into the spring. Behind him, the shaft of this
magnificent arrow has broken. It can be seen behind
his skull, but the fletching and more is lost, and
against your will, you are filled with sorrow.

We become the stories we tell about ourselves. - Johnathan Glover, A Home at the End of the World

My finger stopped as it reached the hand-bound spine of the first volume in that collection of books, one of the hundreds and hundreds that lined the shelves of my sanctum. My finger stopped, then trailed up the edge until I was able to grip and slide the book off the shelf, and as I opened it up I smiled.
