The Last Song Foo Fighters

I don’t think this is the first single off the album and it doesn’t appear to be one of the top-ranked songs on iTunes, but, so far it’s my favorite song on the new Foo Fighter’s album “In Your Honor.” The album is a double-disc affair consisting of a “scream” disc and a “doesn’t scream” disc. This song (which isn't the last song at all) is a great yell-a-long that reminds me of "Monkey Wrench."

This is the last song! (This is the last song!)
This is the last song! (This is the last song!)
That I will dedicate to you!
Made my peace, now I'm through!
This is the last song that I will dedicate to you!

Lyrics like that make you wish you had a girl you could dump just so you could drive around in a fit of righteousness with one foot pegged to the floor, one hand on the wheel, one set of devil horns jutting out the driver’s window, and one forehead thrashing to and fro. Just watch out for the speed trap.

Dave Grohl doesn’t break any new ground with this song, choosing instead to stick to what has worked very well time and time again. You can hear no less than four previous Foo Fighter songs in here and is that a smidgeon of AC/DC in there? Just maybe. Watch the speed traps, indeed.
